Wish I had read the reviews first. Price originally quoted at one level and then higher at checkin - had to show my documents to get the price adjusted back.

Square footage of the room is good and amenities are nice (fridge, nice TV), but at the end of the day, this is a really old building full of historic oddities and decline: uneven floors, damaged (but painted) walls, tight/twisty stairs and hallways, phone-booth sized "elevator", etc.

Late at night, the neighborhood is a bit creepy but I don't know if that's endemic to Philly or just this neighborhood in particular.

This hotel was fantastic. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The room, although small, was very clean and updated - including a fridge, microwave, and complementary bottles of water, toothpaste, toothbrush, and other toiletries.

The parking across the street was affordable and convenient. The elevator is a little old fashioned, but anyone who can follow directions should have no problem with it.

It's in a great location, tons of restaurants, and near lots of buses- so very easy to get around.

I was prompted to write this review after my worst hotel stay ever! This was not even a one-star hotel, I wish there was a lower rating than one star. As soon as I walked in to the hotel I couldn't wait to go home. The room was extremely small, no room temperature gauge and there was about an inch between the carpet and the bottom of the door so I had to put a towel down to keep the space out.

I agree that this is a great a great location, but there's also a Hilton right down the street.

Although this was awhile ago, I was prompted to write this after again searching for another stay in Philadelphia and saw Roadway reviews. This place was a living nightmare. The front door had glass missing and it was taped together. The stairway was so small, we had to wait until someone came down to go up. No elevator service, broken. The rooms were very small and there was no fire escape accessible to us. We could not sleep for fear of getting out safely. Stuffy.

The advertisement shows great location, which it is, but I would never stay here again. Above us were thirteen girls staying for a bachorlette party. This building is an old three story fire trap. Do not stay here. The price invites you in, but you may never get out.
