We stayed at Best Western Seaport overnight while visiting NYU with our daughter in April. We chose this hotel based mostly on price but also on it's location, walking distance to the piers, Battery Park, Ground Zero, and just a short cab ride to NYU, Empire State building, etc. We never had a problem getting a cab from the hotel which was a nice change coming from the Boston area! There is also a small deli/cafe next door, and a small restaurant with outdoor seating that looked nice and was always busy. Peck Slip area itself was very charming with cobblestone streets, lots shopping and restaurants around, validated parking garage($20) at the end of the block.
We arrived at 1:30PM, and were given a room right away. The room was on the small side, but very clean and plenty of space for the 3 of us. We had a queen bed and pullout sofa bed. I loved being able to open the windows and really enjoy the great weather those 2 days. Breakfast was simple but enough for us, bagels, pastries, toast, waffles, fruit, cereals, coffee, juice etc. A really nice touch was the fresh cookies in the lobby every afternoon!
The staff were all terrific, especially the girls at the front desk who were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. We would definately stay here again!
