We stayed just one night here in room 205 and I thought the place was great with just a few little quirks. Sure, the parking is a little tight but that's not that big of a deal in my opinion, just remember to check your mirrors getting out. Yes, the location is a little strange and not in the nicest of areas but once you get in the hotel you forget about that. Check-in was quick and friendly with great service by Keith at the desk. He even called to make sure everything was satisfactory once we got to our room, a very nice touch. The room was clean and comfortable but a little stuffy, it could of used some fresh air but the windows only open about 4 inches. I enjoyed the toiletries provided and the pool was quiet and clean. No towels were provided at the pool so I had to borrow some hand towels from the nearby exercise room instead of going back up to my room. It is also very close to the scene on Garnet Ave and Pacific Beach so that was cool.
So, all in all I thought the place was great value for the price ($86) and I would stay here again.

We chose bed size over view and received an enormous room. We were in a room on the same level as the small swimming pool that the kids really enjoyed. The room was so big, it could have easily fit a total of 3 king size beds. And through the Entertainment Book, we got it for $97. Since we were just passing through, it almost met all of our expectations. The water from the shower didn't work like we wanted, but the room had a refrigerator and a coffee maker and a hair dryer. Plus, the free hot breakfast bar was plentiful. You can't beat the price and the value.

Ok so we read all the good the bad and the smelly review's and to tell you the truth we were going to change locations but we are so glad we did'nt. We (2 adults and 3 kids) stayed at the holiday Inn Express Mission Bay for 5 nights and those 5 nights were the best!!! From the moment we walked in we were treated very good, and the breakfast was to die for, and the room service was top. Parking was a little cramped but noting to throw a fit over. We had a great time and will be coming back .

Do not under any circumstances stay at this hotel. I endured the tortures of the damned for several hours before leaving and finding another hotel at 2 am. Smelly loud rooms, rude drunk staff. The ninth level of hell
