Have today (11.9.08) returned from an eight night stay at the Rosen Plaza and cannot find fault with the hotel whatsoever. Both the room (12th floor) and the public areas were exceedingly clean. The hotel incorporates a couple of restaurants and a 24 hour deli facility, has a nightclub and gym, and is well situated on International Drive in close proximity to numerous restaurants and diners. Theme parks are relatively close at hand too. The hotel is ideal as a tourist base, but having several ballrooms it also caters for business functions so there is never a dull moment, for example a wedding exhibition was held whilst I was there. Another plus is that ample parking space surrounds the hotel. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel, and don't believe anyone who writes negative comments about it! Previously I have stayed in its larger sister hotel, the Rosen Centre, and I was impressed by this too.

I woudln't say this was a 4* hotel like we were led to believe, but the room was spacious and well cleaned. Being from England, my boyfriend and I aren't lovers of air-conditioning like most Americans seem to be! It's far too cold for us! On turning the A/C unit off, we noticed it was noisy and you could hear the air whistling in. We informed reception, and they were quick to respond sending someone up virtually straight away. Unfortunately they didnt seem to be able to fix the problem, but as we were so tired after a long day of travelling we said no more. I'm sure in a normal situation it wouldnt be so noticeable, but because of all the hurricanes and tropical storms headed our way it was far windier than normal! When we did turn the A/C unit on to get some air into the room (we hated having no opening windows!) it was extremely noisey to sleep through! As a tip, be sure to ask for a high floor. We were on floor 7, and could still hear music from Jacks, the nightclub below. I think if you were much lower it really would be a nuisance while trying to sleep at night! The hotel had a good location opposite Pointe Orlando, and it wasn't too much of a walk to further up International Drive to try some of the other restaurants. A good place to stay, and easy to get onto the i-4 to drive to Disney etc, we were just a little disappointed as had expected slightly higher standards with the room.

When I got to my room I immediately noticed a problem with the door unlocking/locking mechanism. I couldn't open the door. One of the housekeeping staff opened the door for me. Then I found out the door would not lock automatically from the outside when shut. I went back to the lobby and asked that someone come up and look into this. I was told to return to the room and someone would be "right up" . I waited for about 20 minutes and nobody showed up. I called the lobby since I had another commitment and was told not to wait; that someone would come up and look at it. This did not happen.

The next morning, the deadbolt stuck and I had to get someone to come up and let me out . An engineer said he would repair it. He did not. That night I called again and asked that this be fixed or that I be moved to another room. When I got back, the door was partially fixed, It now locked automatically when shut but the deadbolt did not work at all. I gave up since this was my last night there.

For a hotel of this caliber, I expect that problems concerning safety be addressed in a timely manner. Although I can overlook one or two staff being nonresponsive, my stay was marred by this being a continual issue.

Stayed at the Rosen Plaza 9th to 23rd August and had absolutely no problems. The room was fine, the wardrobe was fairly small but OK. The room was cleaned thouroughly and clean fresh towels left every day.The restaurants and 24 hour lite bit was were excellent. The pool was great and there were plenty of beds and pool towels.
There were a lot of older people staying for a War Veterans Conference at the next door convention centre these were without exception polite and added colour to the reception and bar areas!
The only down point was the tropical storm fay which drenched our last week but didnt dampen our spirits.
Overall hotel was very good, would book again.
