This is a 70s era four story hotel that has gone through a pretty decent renovation recently. It is located quite close to Sky Harbor Airport but not close enough to suffer from airport noise.
It was quiet noisy however. While the renovation made the room interiors clean and professional, they could not upgrade the soundproofing and so the rooms are a bit noisy.
There is a decent amount of hall noise that can be heard and my second floor room was right above the pool maintenance building which was quite noisy all night long.
The rooms themselves have been updated and look nice. The lower floors open out to the outdoor pool area, the middle two floors all have balconies that open onto the pool area and the top floors are the club level floors for the Starwood Preferred Guest Program participants.
While the sleeping room interior is all new, the bathroom is only partly new. The sink and toilets are new, but the tubs aren't, with the older faucets and tiling (which can look quite dated depending on which room you are in).
The outdoor pool is quite nice. It's a decent size and you can get some serious sunning in. It also has a triangular hot tub right next to the pool.
The resaurant looks out over the pool and looks very inviting.
The hotel is convenience to I-10 at Broadway and there is plenty of free parking.
Since the hotel is not directly next to the airport, you can probably get a decent rate even when Phoenix is quite busy.
I stayed during NASCAR weekend when there was evan a Monday Night Football game and was able to priceline a really good deal.
Parking is free, but the Internet is not. They charge $10/day unless you are on the Club level, where it might be free. The Internet speed is fast with a supplied ethernet cable.
