This is a good hotel for the money, and a great place to relax after Cairo. It is very handy to the Pyramids, and E30 should get you a taxi no problem (don't take the hotel rate of E100 return, make your own way!).
The rooms are extremely comfortable, with a delicious big comfy bed and lovely bathroom, plus the food is good. However, the drinks are atrocious - do not under any circumstances order a Margarita, hardly any alcohol in a premixed base that tasted like kitchen cleaner! Vodka and coke not that much better, and the service is laughably slow! Instead, order a few tins of coke from the superfast room service, add duty free vodka from your stash and relax in the gardens.
I can't criticise this aspect of the hotel too much as it seems well set up for its main business - local familes. It's great value and a real oasis of calm and relaxation after Cairo.
We did hear a few bursts off an AK47 near the hotel in the evening, but I choose to believe this was either someone celebrating Eid in the desert or maybe a particularly devil-may-care hunter. My husband was a bit more rattled by it. But we all survived in one piece.
