“Excellent spot for the Pyramids”

Oasis Hotel

This is a good hotel for the money, and a great place to relax after Cairo. It is very handy to the Pyramids, and E30 should get you a taxi no problem (don't take the hotel rate of E100 return, make your own way!).

The rooms are extremely comfortable, with a delicious big comfy bed and lovely bathroom, plus the food is good. However, the drinks are atrocious - do not under any circumstances order a Margarita, hardly any alcohol in a premixed base that tasted like kitchen cleaner! Vodka and coke not that much better, and the service is laughably slow! Instead, order a few tins of coke from the superfast room service, add duty free vodka from your stash and relax in the gardens.

I can't criticise this aspect of the hotel too much as it seems well set up for its main business - local familes. It's great value and a real oasis of calm and relaxation after Cairo.

We did hear a few bursts off an AK47 near the hotel in the evening, but I choose to believe this was either someone celebrating Eid in the desert or maybe a particularly devil-may-care hunter. My husband was a bit more rattled by it. But we all survived in one piece.

“Oasis Hotel”

Oasis Hotel

Oct 2, 2008

I stayed in this Hotel for 3 nights, this trip was purly and only to see the pyamids, which wasnt a far drive by taxi. We hired a Taxi using the hotel Taxi Service for 6 hours and got a great guy called "Nabil" who took us round the pyamids and saved us a lot of money as he advised us on the maximum we should pay etc

The rooms were ok, i would expect this to be more of a 3* than a 4*. I would hate to see what a 2* hotel would be like out here.

We had a hair dryer & a fridge (although i wouldnt rely on it to keep food in), Air Conditioning worked brilliantly & a power shower.

The hotel had two computers for internet access.

I only had one meal at the hotel and they didnt bring the apertizers till after the mains,. The mains was very nice (maybe coz it was a simple, hamburger and chips) The dessert was the worst ive ever had (brownie with ice cream and HOT chocolate sauce) I got a sponge cake that was stale with awful flavour ice cream and hard chocolate sauce.

The day by the pool was lovely and relaxing, didnt have to fight for a bed either and the pool was lovely.

I would stay at this hotel again, but not for a long period of time. 3 nights was enough.

“Very pleasant holiday at Oasis Hotel”

Oasis Hotel

Sep 29, 2008

Everything at Oasis hotel was ok, expecially the amenities and the shuttle service to/from city (but it needs more trips a day)...
We stayed for 6 days and we surely come back next time in Cairo.

“Rooms are in desperate need of a refresh”

Oasis Hotel

Sep 26, 2008

Stayed here for 2 nights. Rooms are in desperate need of a refresh, currently they are about a 3 star standard in reality. The shower was terrible with no water pressure and I had no hot water one morning. The bedspread had a cigarette burn in it and the mattress was old and was sunken in. The air conditioning worked well but was noisy – bring ear plugs. The pool and grounds are nice and the breakfast was really good lots of choice. It’s a perfect location for exploring the Pyramids and surrounding area and you there’s no traffic noise. If rooms were updated then I would stay here again.

“Nice hotel”

Oasis Hotel

4 of 5 stars

A very nice hotel. Cairo is a massive, loud and crowded city so it was nice to find a quiet, serene hotel. The rooms are in low-rise buildings and feature A/C, TV and spacious bathrooms with tub and bidet. Please note that there was no alarm/clock radio so bring your own if you are on a schedule.
The pool tended to be very crowded but the tennis court was always available.
Drinks at the bar were a bit expensive (by international standards) but overall, the restaurant and bars were decent.
There are 2 computer terminals in the lobby where you can purchase internet time.
To summarize, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
