We have stayed in Ritz Carltons all over the place...somehow this one did not liveup to the Ritz standard in my opinion. Upon check in, they were friendly and the lobby is beautiful as most Ritz's are. We went to the restaurant which was called Bistro M and it was pretty good. The room was nice but not over the top luxury. We were surprised to see 2 full beds instead of 2 queens which is what we normally see. The room was also stuffy, and it took awhile to cool off. Just little things were as pristine and perfect as they always seem to be in every Ritz we have stayed in. The next morning my husband pulled back the curtains and the carpet was stained and soiled, in a few spots, a serious turnoff and not somethign you expect when spending 500 plus a night per room.
We ate in the lounge restaurant for breakfast, which was slow, and they had a hard time getting a simple order of 2 eggs with toast and potatoes right. Somehow we just felt the "Ritz touch" was a little lacking here. It wasn't a bad hotel, and it was very pretty but this could have been a souped up other chain, it just didn't feel as exclusive as some of the others....I am not saying don't go there, just be aware that it might not be up to the same standard as some of their other properties. This is just our opinion.
