I stayed on the 9th level with my partner for 3 nights. We had an early flight and was allowed to check-in early which was a nice welcome. The room was a bit of a mixture of styles - new bed, tv, tv stand but old style bathroom and kitchen area. The view over Hyde Park made the extra money worth it and there was little noise from the street below. The bed was devine, new tv, spacious but dated bathroom, staff friendly, convenient location, clean and practical gym, pool and sauna (although a constant flow of drunk people up there) with a brilliant view. Room service food was pretty ordinary but some things on menu may be better. The price we paid for this was very reasonable and will most likely return.

Our stay in the Marriott during August 2008 was really excellent and the staff were super-friendly. Excellent dining and bar facilities.

I booked this hotel on wotif for a long weekend away with my partner. I wasn't expecting much from it but was overly impressed by the room. It was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with an enormous bathtub, not a spa but still relaxing
The only downfall was the size of the TV, a big flat screen would have been better in the room.

We didn't have a park view room but our view was still excellent, you could see the wharf at woolamooloo and the lights were amazing.

We stayed here for one night in August 2008, in a room booked through Wotif with breakfast included.

I was looking for a reliable, pleasant and hassle-free hotel, which was what we (mostly) got.

On the upside:
- Very helpful, friendly staff
- We arrived at 11am and were able to check into our room early, which was very much appreciated
- Breakfast was great
- Room was clean, pleasantly furnished etc
- Room contained a microwave, a toaster and some crockery - we didn't use this, but I can imagine it would be very handy if you were staying for several days

Some negatives:
- Not good soundproofing - we could hear people quite clearly from the hallway, doors banging etc
- Curtain didn't cover the window all the way, so the morning light came in. This combined with the soundproofing meant that we were wide awake by 8am after a late night - not ideal
- Hotel is clearly a little old. Not at all shabby, just not all modern and "designer"

The location suited us very well - right next to a park, and close to Crown St where we had dinner with friends. We walked from the hotel all the way to the Rocks (about half an hour) and back again with no problems, but if you are not a big walker, you might prefer a hotel closer to the main tourist attractions.
