Dingy, dirty, tiny rooms with peeling paint on the walls and cockroaches inhabiting the bathroom. Water ranged from tepid to freezing and I had to ask to see 7 different rooms on arrival before I saw one that was just about bearable. That one still had cockroaches in the bathroom when I returned in the evening. Avoid this hotel at... more
I stayed at the hotel with my daughter and must say that my experience was all in all ver much positive, despite all the bad reviews I read prior to our trip to NYC. The room was clean and big enough, with a spacy closet for all the shopping we did,an iron / ironing board, a safe (no extra charge),... more
My husband and I stayed here for a week at the end of April. We had spent a good month looking for hotels online, we wanted a room with private bath/shower in a decent location but didnt want to spend a fortune as we planned to be off exploring for much of the day and night. These seem like realistic... more
This hotel was terrible. Rooms were TINY, hallways were dingy and just generally in rough shape. A person could literally not sit on the toliet because the sink was too close. Shower stalls were small but bearable. The shower water though went from freezing to scalding w/ no warning. Rates are super cheap for NYC though but unless you're traveling... more
I have visited NY every 6 months for a few weeks for many years now, I know what is expectable. I am not going to delve on the issues others have mentioned repeatedly and which I also encountered. What must be said is that this place is a half-apartment house, half-hotel and I have never met management like this before.... more
This hotel is like staying in a good quality student house or a hostel in a great location but If I was going back to NYC I would definitely sacrifice the location for a higher standard of accomodation. I had to change rooms just once because of mice and the staff, whilst not particularly apologetic, allowed me to change rooms... more
Stayed here with my girlfriend from the 3rd to the 10th of March and couldn't have been any better. The room was comfortable and clean, the kitchenette was excellent and the internet access was great. You're right next to a bunch of shops and restaurants as well as the subway which is all very handy. We were able to come... more
we stayed here 2/16-2/23/08 oon room 333, we were scared of all the negative reviews we read but because we booked it through Hotwire we were stucked to this hotel. when we arrived @ 1 am it looks like there was some construction going on but there was a notice on the door of a "stop work order" so there... more
I stayed here this month and got almost exactly what I could expect from reading their website and the tripadvisor reviews. I was optimistically hoping for more. On arrival we were greeted with the sight of scaffolding. The front desk has a sign explaining that they are refurbishing the lobby. The lobby actually looks in better condition than the rooms... more
