I stayed at the W this summer for a 'girls' night out.' Boy was this a stay... The good stuff first: it's a gorgeous place, the decor is unbelievable, and you're right in the middle of everything. The bed is also insanely comfortable. The praise ends here. The famous W customer service was very spotty for us - some staff... more

I just came back from W ny union square. It was a fantastic experience. I stayed in a fantastic suite room which is quite expensive room for 6nights. As it costs, It was really really fantastic room! the room is large, devided into kind of 2 room with a beautiful bath room. the living room has 2 huge couch, 1... more

From the moment we arrived at the W in Union Square we had a great experience. Everyone made our honeymoon so memorable. We were upgraded to an amazing suite, came back from dinner to a nice bottle of Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Vince at the front door was so awesome to deal with. He helped us get to the... more

Reservation was made for me by others. I was schocked at the price ( >$500 with tax even when prepaid via internet) and expected elegance . Checkin was efficient and mechanical. Room was adequate - but no larger than a standard Hampton-Holiday Inn, Sheration , etc. Decorated in modern chrome and wood. No in room coffee pot - but It... more

I have tried to stay at this W before but it is often sold out or the prices get into the 600 dollar range and I know I can get more for my money elsewhere. I finally stayed here for the first time in August. I had a great stay start to finish. The front desk staff is awesome, very... more

As I was sitting in a very large, very expensive ($600+) room at the W Union Square I looked around at the pallid, sparse furnishings and decided this was the last W I would be visiting. Did all the furniture break during a party? Or was there never any there to begin with? At least a Holiday Inn will normally... more

When The Westin Times Square was completely booked, we were more than a little disappointed that we wouldn't be able to stay at our favorite hotel during our NYC visit. Upon a suggestion from one of the reservationists at the Westin, we booked into The W Union Square. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out,... more

Stayed 3 nights in april 08. Hotel was booked for a business outing at 550$/night. Room was extremely well appointed and quite large, wonderful bathroom. Staff was nice and I really have no major complaints other than the price (which is probably not out of line for New York) but I don't feel it was really worth it. Pros: clean,... more

I never write reviews but feel compelled to after our horrible stay at the W. The first room they put us in smelled terrible, so they moved us to another room, which smelled fine. Later that night, a strong smell of cigarette smoke started wafting in through the air vents, despite our being on a non-smoking floor. The staff's first... more

We had a nice stay at the W. The hotel is not laid out like a normal W. It has more light and not the groovy ambiance of what I expect from W hotels. The location is great. Sort of in the center of Manhattan. Lots of restaurants and shops and a short walk to Greenwich Village. On Saturdays there... more
