I was more than a little apprehensive about The Court after some of the reviews here, but I got a great deal with Starwood points and cash, and the location's great (3 blocks from Grand Central, easy walk all to Macy's, down to Union Square, back from west of Times Square at night, etc), so I decided to stick it... more

I've stayed at W Hotels in NYC before--usually they are glamorous, a little crowded, but comfortable. This time I found a good rate at the W The Court at which I had not stayed before. EWWWW!!!!! It was shabby, dirty--a real fleabag with a few fake fur throws for "glamour". Even the much vaunted W Wonderful bed was sagging and... more

First off, the rooms and the lobby are actually quite nice (except for the picture frames falling off the wall in the room). The BLISS bath products are a nice bonus. BUT ... the service at this hotel was TERRIBLE. We got there early and needed to leave our bags so we could go to a play. It took forever... more

Not bad at all. Its not the Gramercy Park, or St Martins Lane in London, but then its a lot cheaper. I think the main consideration is are you getting value for money? Its a simple hotel. Essentially a bar with rooms on top of it. Does the house music and scented candles in the lobby mean you are happy... more

You can get some excellent deals at this hotel depending on your dates, and it is a better value than the other Ws in NYC. Service is very good all around -- friendly and efficient. Location is terrific. It was close to my business meeting, but it is walking distance to Times Square and the major shopping areas. Grand Central... more

First, I'll say that I booked this hotel on a Travelzoo special & got the room at pretty much 50% of the hotel's normal rate. There is no way that I would have paid the normal rate. That said, by NYC standards, this was a great room! I couldn't believe how big the room was! We stayed in a "spectacular... more

We had a suite -- the room was a very nice size but the "pull-out sofa bed" unusable and the cushions all ripped. The bathtub didn't drain properly, so you were standing in water immediately upon taking a shower. Room service was fast and courteous. Unfortunately, a watch (not super-nice but not cheap, either) went missing from our room. Our... more

I was very impressed with the W-Court. The check in process was smooth and the service was impeccable. My gold status was acknowledged at check in and I was offered an upgraded room. It had lots of space and plenty of amenities. Concierge Barbara had great suggestions and her attention to detail was much appreciated. Also took advantage of the... more

Other people who have posted about shabbiness at the W Court must have been in vastly different rooms from the one I stayed it. My room was sophisticated and spacious (2 queen beds, walk in closet, ample bathroom, good desk, sense of humor in amenities). I was delighted at every turn! The Internet access was fast and it was very... more

I spent two nights at the W for business and was very disappointed. Thankfully, the client was paying, because at the price, it was worth about half of what was charged. First, everything is worn and needs replacing. Desks, beds, chairs, lamps, etc. all show multiple bruises and scratches from years of hard use. Second, the elevators are tiny and... more
