My wife, daughter and I recently visited NYC with friends. The W Lexington Ave is conveniently located adjacent the Waldorf near Saks Fifth Ave, Rockefeller Center, etc. We booked online through Travelocity based solely on location and price. At check-in, we each requested a late check-out. I received a friendly reply and a 2 pm check-out. Our friends received less... more

I stayed at the W for a couple of nights and found it comfortable, but not particularly compelling. The main negative was the extremely noisy air-conditioning unit on the inside courtyard. This is seems to be a problem for any lower level rooms facing inwards (the noise was still very loud after I moved rooms a few floors up). The... more

Although recently renovated, this hotel does not live up to the expensive redo. Staff is smug and non responsive to guests' needs. Telephone operator is not always available to answer your calls (the hotel itself sometimes will not answer),and sometimes your wake up calls will be forgotten. Rooms are inadequately furnished (my room did not have shelfing for my clothes... more

The W in New York has a fantastic loctation if you are a tourist. All the staff are so attandive and caring and they are flexible in accomodating a guest's needs. The housekeeping was particularly efficient. The hotel was spotless clean. The breakfast was very good, with a lot of variety and good value for money. We had one dinner... more

I've stayed here 3 night end of October. Room was very well decorated, comfortable and spacious. Unfortunately I was staying on the 5th floor and had a lot of noise of some airco installations on the roof of another building....earplugs helped :-)) Hotel is very well located on Lexington Avenue, so very close to all major attractions. Other nice features... more

My husband and I both live in New York, but we wanted to try something different and stay in the city and celebrate our 2 year wedding Anniversary so we stayed at the W Hotel and we had an amazing stay. We were welcomed with a bottle of Champagne and a bowl of strawberries in our room shortly after our... more

The W group is not what it was. Sure, it's hard to get a room with a decent view in New York, but the cheapest rooms here are not just tiny but look out on air ducts: you have to crane to see a piece of sky. Pictures are falling off the bathroom walls, the service is curt, and the... more

Staying at a W hotel, one of Starwood's newest brands, has come to signify to most travellers, an expected level of world-class comfort, combined with hip interiors and good technology. Overall, I must say that the W New York delivers what it promises, but no more. The hotel is often so busy, that it becomes unpersonal and the staff are... more

When checking into our room we immediately realised that this was not the room we had reserved. We had booked a "spectacular room" and this was definitely not that. It turned out to be a "cosy room", two categories below ours and unless we had said something at the time then this is the room we would have had to... more

We were concerned about the reviews we read here when we got the W New York on Priceline. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised. First, we did get one of the really small rooms. It was fine for a couple (not to say bigger wouldn't be better, but it was absolutely fine)....the main part of the room, which contains the bed,... more
