This hotel looks very plain on the outside, (facing the boulevard) but once inside you are greeted by winding paths through well planted gardens with palm trees, flowers, a fountain and bougainvillea winding over the arches. California Suites Hotel, where I stayed with my friends during our trip to San Diego was quite a surprise. Even though it was a budget hotel, the services were good.
