I stayed here on labor day weekend. The parties are definitely insane. Lots of great guests. The place however is a crap hole and the staff even crappier. They are completely useless and a bit cliquey. If you are not a hot girl or a guy that resembles a surfer, forget about talking to them. The location is the only... more

Ok, so the location cant be beat. Its right on the beach front but to be honest I'd rather have slept there than step foot in that hostel. Its a disgusting hell hole of a place. We had a 'private' room booked for a few nights but left early because we couldnt bear to spend any more time there. Random... more

We chose this place for the same reason as everyone else - it's right by the beach and it's dirt cheap. Unfortunately, while it's cheap...it also comes with the dirt. We arrived early and had to leave and check in later on in the day. When we did check in, the girl wasn't really sure what she was doing (even... more

For anyone who is planning to stay in a hostel, I really wouldn't recommend this one. The place has a bad odor, there are no doors, the people are rude (unless you are international). There are plenty of hostels in downtown San Diego that would rank well above this one. It's in a good location, the beach is sweet, but... more

Myself and a friend stayed there for a couple of nights last week. I'm still unsure what I thought of the place! It's right on the beach, it's a beutiful, beautiful beach so you really couldn't get a better location. It's definitely ideal for people on a budget but you definitely have to be a party person to enjoy it.... more

If you like it, that the people who work there come to your room in the middle, while 4 others are sleeping and start party in your room. And if you like it, when the stuff has sex in the loftbed and you have to sleep in one of the bed, jiggeling the whole bed. And if you like it,... more

Well what can I say.....THE BANANA BUNGALOW IS THE BEST! I stayed here for a week and it wasn't long enough. I loved everything about it. I found it extremely clean but I suppose being on the beach it can be acustomed to wear and tear from the condesation of the ocean. So even though it looked slightly worn in... more

Okay, so this place is actually filthy. There is sand everywhere, and it is really really dirty. The common room doubled up as an overflow room when people just couldn't bring themselves to leave. The staff are in their own little world, and the beds are old and awful. But... if you like to party this is the place for... more

Staying at this hostel was an interesting experience... It was a lot of fun and a great way to meet people (that was my favorite part). The location is also unbeatable, steps to Pacific Beach. It is a wild place and a great party, but I am very glad to have only stayed there one night. Upon checking into our... more

I was in the Scouts for a number of years and am accustomed to hostels of all shapes and sizes. All I can say is this place is a dump. I stayed 4 nights here as part of a large group- we only stayed this long as we could not find anywhere else at short notice for such a large... more
