We have stayed at this hotel twice. The "Above Average" rating is primarily for this hotel's location, while the rooms probably deserve rating of "Neutral/Average." The hotel is pretty centrally located in South Beach with direct access to the beach, which is a great advantage. I am surprised at other reviews mentioning rude staff, as our experience with staff has... more

booked this hotel for myself my husband & friends of ours celebrating there silver wedding anniversary . After ten fantastic days on a carribean cruise what a disappointment this hotel was . Our deluxe ocean view room had nothing deluxe about it .The toilet was leaking so the room smelt of urine, the hotel is completley run down its tatty,... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in Novemeber. The experience was horrible! I am not a hard person to please and do not like to complain about petty things. However, I want to WARN YOU that this hotel has extremely rude front desk help and it is junky and I would not recommend staying there. The rooms are... more

We are older travellers who wanted some sun and heat after a grey summer and to see the sights in South Florida. I had some concerns at the generally negative reviews of the hotel but we did not want to pay a high rate (though it was a lot more than the $80 quoted in one review). We also wanted... more

In all my years of travel, my stay at this hotel was the worse. First of all, the outside appearance of the establishment is very outdated for the location they are in, two buildings away is the Ritz Calrton and The Delano, you would think they keep up withe place. Then you proceed to walk inside where there’s no one... more

After reading numerous reviews of South Beach hotels and fearing they were all moldy, dank and cockroach-infested, I finally found The Marseilles. It seemed to have reasonable rates ($80/night) while still being clean, centrally located, safe and fairly quiet. And most importantly had the Art Deco architecture I was looking for (the reason I visited South Beach in the first... more

Customer Service was bad. The bar in room did not work for the 5 day we were there. We told them it did not work each day and thery did nothing about it. We had to get ic to keep our water cold. Sometime the ice machine did not work. The bathroom was not clean, the tub and sink was... more

I just got back from a week-long vacation with my boyfriend at the Marseilles. After reading the reviews we figured we would be happy staying there. We aren't spoiled and never have high expectations but after this trip, we will NEVER stay there again. The hotel was going through some renovations - dirty! There were only two elevators which broke... more

A group of 14 stayed here a couple of days before a cruise. It was convenient to the Port and began our holiday off great. The negative reviews were a worry but we also didn't want to spend $300 a night. Keeping in mind that it is a smaller, older hotel, it is what it is... we expected smaller washrooms,... more

First thing i can say is that you have to ignore all the bad reviews of this hotel. Arrival We arrived late in the evening and had no problems at the reception, the guy was very efficient and gave us enough info to be going on with after our long flights and we were on are way to our room... more
