Sure, the owner is annoying when he tries to convince you to go on a "bargain" Egyptian excursion, but just listen to his pitch and tell him you're going to pass. If you want an easier out, just tell him you'll let him know. He gets it, and then he doesn't bother you about it anymore. This place was a... more

Just as other reviewers have said, the staff and management of this hostel hassle/harass guests without end to take their tours, and treat you quite rudely/ignore you if you are not interested. Unfortunately, we finally gave in and hired a car through them one day (the price didn't seem so bad, and it was convenient), and ended up with a... more

hotel was fine. atef greeted us and he discovered that we did not want to book his OVERPRICED tours, ignored us for the rest of our stay. not worth it. too much hassle and attitude. find somewhere with less hassle. less attitude. more

We (a family of five with children aged 10, 12, and 14 travelling as backpackers), stayed at King Tut's Hostel June 2007, both when arriving to Cairo and when returning from our round trip in Egypt. The reservation via the internet worked fine and although we were delayed one day due to flight delay, this did not create any problems... more

The King Tut hostel is the best hostel I have been to hands down. I am traveling by myself and the staff accomodated me in one of their numerous clean, air conditioned rooms. I was really impressed with how nice the rooms are and the cleanliness. I did not have any travel plans booked when I came to Cairo, but... more

We arrived in Cairo late on a Saturday evening and after struggling through the traffic and bustle of the city we were pleasantly surprised to find a peaceful, clean haven in the heart of it all. The staff are extremely welcoming and Atef helped us to plan the rest of our trip in Egypt down to the smallest detail. This... more

Hubby + I stayed @ King Tut Hostel for 5 days in 12/07. We had courtesy pick-up from the international airport. (Main reason we booked this hostel). Twin room was small but location of hostel was good as it was near the local market. Initially we were given a 3 bed room just above the street but next day we... more

We stayed there at the beginning of our travel in Egypt and we chose to stay there also at the end of it. It is a budget hotel and the staff is fantastic: very helpful and nice (in particular Rafik). We planned our travel through Egypt on the spot and they helped us to arrange it exactly as we planned,... more

I took my 10year old son for his birthday and we both had a great time. This was a great budget hotel. The location was excellent and the staff was great. The only complaint was the smoking in the eating room. I like my food without the smoke, but hey for $10.00 you can deal with it. Rick Aynes Oklahoma... more

This place was the best hostel we have ever stayed at. They were very organized and offer extremely competitive tour rates. The customer service was amazing. We booked a 2 night/3 day desert camping tour through them with roundtrip private van transportation from Cairo to Bahariya for 900 LE per person. The only down fall was the first night in... more
