We were very happy that we chose this hotel as we found out that it was the only one in Punta with direct access to the beach. Rooms very nice. We just did not understand why a twin room facing the street was more expensive that a double with a partial sea view. The beach and pool area are just... more

After testing and trying several hotels in Punta del Este, we found the SERENA Hotel. Good location (away from the huzzle and buzzle but still close to everything allowing the perfect privacy and relaxation). The rooms are very nice, comfortable and with amazing views. The beach and pool area the the highlight of this hotel. An amazing black mirrow pool... more

We stayed at Serena hotel in beginning Feb,2007 for 5 nights. We came during the week and the hotel was still pretty empty, which we loved (gets packed on weekends) . We recieved royal treatment on the beach and pool service and the included breakfast was delicious. You have to try a pitcher of White Sangria at the pool. The... more

Small, boutique hotel (30 rooms) on the west side of Punta del Este. About 5 minutes into Punta, but well worth it. Punta's beaches can be rocky or nonexistent. Serena is directly on the beach, the only hotel we saw in Punta that was so. The beach in front of the hotel is well-maintainerd with plenty of lounge chairs for... more

Spent two days at the Serena this month. The property itself is very pretty - sort of a zen meets Africa decor that is located directly on the beach, allowing for very picturesque alfresco dining (which was very tasty). Very pretty world music pumping throughout the lobby and beach area, pretty floral arrangements placed throughout. The hotel had the great... more

Stayed there for 2 nights ($300 per night) in mid February. We liked the design and chilling at the pool or on the beach is very good. "All" other things are not good: the location is far away from Punta del Este; it's directly on the the main road and the hotel is not being well maintained. Staff is uninterested,... more

Stayed in Serena for 8 nights during the quiet season and it was incredibly relaxing. I would recommend Serena for couples that want to avoid screaming children, like to sunbathe, swim in the sea or the fresh water pool, enjoy the spa and enjoy the sights of nearby Casa Pueblo. Breakfast served by the pool in the sofa loungers was... more

Really beautiful hotel in Punta del Este directly on the beach. Hotel has a fantastic spa, infinity pool, really comfy loungers for two (sofas) outside on the beach and around the pool. Perfect spot for a romantic weekend getaway. Not too great for single travelers, which I was. But I still enjoyed the beach and the spa. There is a... more

I've already been to many hotels in Punta, and this is one that I'll never come back. First it lacks space in the rooms. No room for the luggage, no room to put a computer or even my makeup. The bedrooms are very, very small, with a tiny closet (I had to hang my dresses in the bathroom...). Even though... more

Stayed for 2 nights (Fri & Sat) for US$240/night including breakfast. This was the 3rd stop on our honeymoon through the area after 7 unbelievable nights at both Four Seasons Buenos Aires and then FS Carmelo. Serena opened about 1 year ago and banks very much on the image of exclusiveity. The room was tiny, queen with a shower (no... more
