The Kempinski Hotel Ishtar gives you the opportunity to enjoy its riches where Queen of Sheba and Cleopatra once strived to unravel mystery. Situated gracefully on the shores of the largest spa in the world the Dead Sea, unique for its ozone-rich air, mineral sea water and ultra-violet filtered sunshine. Surely there is no region on earth where nature and history have more wonderfully conspired, where so exciting drama has obtained a so beautiful theatre. more » « less

We have just returned from an 8 night stay at the Kempinski. This was our second visit to the Dead Sea, we previously stayed at the Movenpick in Sept 2001. The hotel architecture is stunning and impressive though it does feel in the main reception areas that design is more important than function. The hotel was quite quiet during our... more

We stayed in the Kempinski for one night as part of a touring holiday in Jordan. We managed to check in early (1pm) with no problems. The room was large and tastefully furnished with nice lighting, two TVs, and free minibar. The bathroom was massive, with a wide bath and walk-in shower. As we were only staying for one night,... more

I just spent two days at the Kempinski Dead Sea and was extremely disappointed. As I say above, you cannot claim to be a 5 star hotel -- charging premium prices -- when your service is 2 star -- at the most. The problem with this hotel is it is simply too big -- and there is an absence of... more

A great luxury setting to round off a hectic tour of Jordan. Great location, staff were fantastic and amenities were first class. Upgraded to villa accommodation by Front Office Manager as our allocated room was not ready upon arrival at 15:00. Our villa was adjacent to the infinity pool overlooking the Dead Sea. Loved every moment of our stay! more

This hotel is almost there. My girlfriend used to manage a Michelin star restaurant and a good friend of mine runs one of the UK's top hotels, so we feel qualified to review the Kempinski. The public areas and the pools are superb, the rooms (deluxe in the village) were big, well finished with great bathrooms and extremely comfortable beds.... more

Hotel is stunning, the architecture is amazing, looks like a palace, beautiful pools and gorgeous grounds. Landscaping is striking and breathtaking. Rooms are very big with huge terraces. The most comfortable beds and finest Italian linens and duvets. I went home to USA and bought these linens. Food was very fresh and made to order. Service was great. Best of... more

What a hotel! Definitely lives up to it's 5* tag. Rooms large and comfortable. Free Intenet access in rooms, which is not the norm in most hotels. Free mini bar, yes, I did say free, but don't get too excited. Mini bar contains a couple of beers and mostly soft drinks, no spirits, but it's better than what most hotels... more

A “wow” hotel! The complex consists of the main hotel building and various “villas” located throughout. We have often used such villas due to the close vicinity to the pool etc but in this case we were glad to be in the main hotel. The villas opened in 2006 and the main hotel in 2007. The hotel building is modern... more
