Avoid at all costs! We have stayed at this hotel on two previous occasions and found it central and convenient although pricey for what you get. For the record it is quaint and clean with at least one reasonable sized room, though there are no lifts and the restaurant is on the average side of average. On this occasion we... more

Although small, this hotel has the best of everything. It is in the best location being a stone's throw from Circular Quay and the fascinating ferries shuttling in and out of the bays, and the magnificent Opera House shining in the sunlight. It is so close to the Bridge that you only have to step out of the front door... more

I called the hotel a week prior to arrival, to request one of the Harbour View Rooms as I was planning on proposing on the night of our stay. I popped in the day before to ask for champagne to be put in the room. On arrival the following day, without giving anything away the receptionists advised that we had... more

This is a characterful hotel set right in the heart of the Rocks. The location couldn't be better; close to all the sights and restaurants. There is a restaurant on site, which is fine. Breakfasts OK here, but better (and cheaper) at the Gum Nut cafe down the road. Rooms are well equiped and comfortable. Only problem with our room... more

This hotel will not please everyone, as the previous reviews clearly show. We wanted to stay in the Rocks area, so that we were close to all the restaurants and tourist activities. As the area has historic significance, we wanted a hotel that was in keeping with the old world charm, not a large highrise temple of modern extravagance. This... more

It took us 3 rooms and an upgrade to manage our 5night stay. I wouldn't rate this as terrible but maybe i'm too polite. Thankfully when you are in Syndey you are not in your room much. The lower floors are dark and although not damp, have a feeling of dampness. My husband occassionally suffers from a bad chest and... more

We stayed here for 4 nights in January at the beginning of our month long trip to Australia. It was booked through a travel agent. My request for the trip was boutique hotels with character, charm, and or history. I said we did not necessarily want to pay top dollar but would if the property was worth it. So overall... more

Hotel was definitely misrepresented. It's nothiing more than a Holiday Inn, if that. The Four Seasons is right down the street and cost about as much. more

Stayed here for one night prior to a cruise. This hotel is right in the middle of the Rocks area and is within an easy 5 to 10 minute walk from the Circular Quay area. Circular Quay is where the Opera House and the sightseeing ferries are located, making this a very convenient hotel. I did not choose this hotel... more

Quaint, clean hotel in great area of the Rocks near Circular Quay. Surrounded by bars, cafes and restaurants. We stayed September 4 to 7th, 2007. Great view of the Opera House from the window of our room. Staff were earnest and generally knowledgeable. Very good value for the price of $250AUD. more
