Booked a standard guest room for a wedding that was being held at the hotel. Although it was very pricey, we decided to treat ourselves and booked for one night. The staff thoughtfully booked us in a room in the same part of the building as the Wedding Breafast and the Wedding Co-ordinator for the hotel kindly let Reception know... more

This hotel is quite a sight to behold as you drive up the sweeping drive and catch your first glimpse of the impressive building. The small reception was manned by friendly and smiley staff who checked us in without any problems (special mention should be made for the concierge guys - very helpful). The room was not too easy to... more

My wife and I have been together for 10 years and we wanted a special night away (less the kids). We chose Hanbury based on a recommendation and we weren't disappointed. We chose a "Manor Room" as I like old fashioned big rooms a lot more than the newer characterless rooms you often get in modern hotels. The room was... more

. A loveley looking hotel but overall I feel this does not live up to its rating. Is it a luxury hotel or a wedding/conference centre?. The pricing would appear to be aimed more towards corporate expenses or people who think paying over the odds makes it "luxury". The room was good without being top quality and was fine for... more

Chose this hotel as the only one near my business trip. Surprised? I was amazed. The room was clean (even the bathroom floor which is a rarity these days), well decorated and sumptuous. Loved the space and the bathroom was a good size. Whilst my room was a bit of a trek from the opulence of the reception area, it... more

Booked a prestige room for one night. Room not as per room description on website. No slippers, iron/ironing board or clock radio. No turn down service. Room was dusty in areas, paint flaking from windows and cracks in the bathroom. Had dinner in the Zodiac restaurant which was really good. The food was perfectly cooked and the waiters - 2... more

Stayed here for 1 night. The good points: - staff very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good time - the location and grounds - they gave us a late checkout - evening meal was good if you ordered a steak....but.... The bad points - ....the vegetarian option, pasta in a tomato sauce,... more

Have stayed at Marriott County Hall, Kensington and Heathrow in last six weeks and a number of other country hotels in the previous year on both business and pleasure. This Hotel is a LONG way behind in service and quality compared to the others. A small sample of the problems encountered in a one nights stay. - 2 hours and... more

This hotel has a lovely setting, with a famous golf course, and was to be an ideal venue for a ladies reunion. Having previously used this hotel for business, I recommended this place to friends. Unfortunately the service proved to be a disaster, particularly in the Cocktail Bar, where we waited 25 minutes to be served on 2 occassions. The... more
