rooms were very comfortable. The hotel had a pleasant ambiance - quiet, relaxed and laid back - but this was contradicted by the bar atmosphere - (used by locals?). Staff were rather distant. "leisure" facilities consisted of a steam room, sauna and treatment room - no pool in a 4 star hotel in 2008? Restaurant food good although vegetarian options... more

We had a very pleasant few days stay at the end of August. We found the receptionists and staff most courteous and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. The food was excellent. We thought that because this was a golf links hotel that it would only suit golfers, this was not so. My wife went for an indian... more

We decided to stay at this hotel based on positive reviews, however, this hotel is lacking in many areas, specifically service! We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by a very cordial manager at the front desk, however, from this point on it was quite disappointing. Our rooms were poorly maintained (both the newer area and older areas of... more

Just returned from a short break and was extremely pleased with hotel and all the staff, who couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely views to the sea, which is only a couple of minutes walk away and leads to a delightful sandy bay, and of course the views over the well known golf course. There is a very good train... more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and found the bedrooms to be of a 3 star standard rather than 4. We stayed in the older bedrooms and I'm sure the newer style are a 4 star standard as is the reception area. The staff were extremley helpful with regards to giving info on bus times, local places etc.... more

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a week. We arrived the day after the Ladies Irish Open was completed and it was obvious the previous week had been busy. When we checked in they had mixed up the reservation date - but because of this we were upgraded to a room overlooking the golf course without any... more

Reception was very helpful and let us into room early. Room was fantastic, with views of sea and golf course. Spot on room service. All staff were great. If there was one complaint it would be that there were no biscuits provided in the rooms but I do have a sweet tooth!! Booked hotel through Travelzoo and had an up-grade... more

The front of the Hotel is old and sad looking but once inside it is very bright and welcoming. Check in was very slow due to two staff giving all their attention to one guest! I had booked 2 rooms but only 1 was reserved but because it was a pretty quiet time they were able to rectify the problem.... more

We stayed in the hotel as we were attending a family wedding. Location is perfect, but thats about as good as it gets. Check in was a nightmare, as room bookings made last September couldn't be found. Staff at reception have english as a second language so communication was not always easy. The wedding meal was a disaster, soup was... more
