for 2 stars, and in former east berlin this wasn't a bad hotel, and lively breakfast hall plus a central location. but it isn't a modern or stylish hotel, more like a retro almost soviet style experience. cheap and ok for sleeping, but not for hanging out more than necessary. more
Saved up all year for my 14 yr old son and myself to have a relaxing, enjoyable break in Berlin, found this hotel on web but due to technical probs, ended up booking via travel agent. Arrived pretty late for our 4 night stay, because of flight delay. Noticed straight away that we were not made to feel welcome, just... more
Stayed at this Hotel having been recommended by a friend. We were two adult couples. The reception upon arrival was very efficient and friendly and our rooms were clean and all fully serviced. If you can try to get a room at the rear away from the front of the Hotel as the trams are inclined to clank a bit... more
This hotel has a good location for exploring Berlin, only a short walk to trams and subways. The rooms are big and clean, but a little worn down. Ours had a sofa as well as twin beds, closet and a desk. A big plus is the balcony, although ours overlooked a heavy trafficked street. Wi-Fi was available for 6 EUR... more
(+) Good location if you are planning to stay in East Berlin and you are familiar with the scenery (kind of scary at night but still a safe neighbourhood) Big room, very clean bathroom, nice view from the 5th floor where i stayed kind of creepy guy at the reception at night but gentle Close to Alexanderplatz, 1 stop by... more
Awful. Located in the old East Berlin amongst abandoned and/or decrepit apartment buildings. No cafes or shops within safe walking distance. First room smelt of urine and cigarettes, asked to be moved to luke-warm reception. Was on the 8th floor, but very, very noisy. Felt unsafe, was so happy to check out and get to Hamburg! more
I can begin by saying this trip was for 14 people paid in advance months befor and was a three day two night break. Upon arrival our details for our hotel accomadation had not been forwarded to the hotel so we were not expected, a fair mistake not the hotels fault. We were kept waiting as we were told we... more
This hotel was excellent value for money. The room was incredibly spacious and while the decor was dated, it was immaculately clean, warm and had a brand new bathroom. We also had a fantastic balcony with great views of the Berlin tower which looked amazing at night. It is very well located next to the train station with plenty of... more
We were a group of 8 people on a cultural visit to Berlin. The city itself has some very beautiful parts and we enjoyed our visit, but our lasting impression is that which was left by the hotel. On a previous review there was mention of the very rude lady at breakfast, we met her and know what you mean.... more
