after reading the reviews on tripadvisor i decided to book this hotel for my 5 night stay in munich in july.and i was not disappointed, great location and very friendly and helpful staff.a thumbs up for the monaco! more
Great hotel - would recommend it to ANYONE! The location is great, right next to the station and very close to the centre of town (we walked to all the sights). There are a few mens clubs but we stayed out till very late and NEVER felt unsafe walking back to the hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.... more
We also used a review from Rick Steve's book and found it suited our needs very well. It has a great location near the train and subway station, close to where a lot of the day tours depart from, walking distance to shopping and eating areas, a 24 hour staffed front desk, all who spoke English and were very helpful.... more
I can probably say if I am on a budget, I would probably stay at Hotel Monaco again. Staff was nice. The location has its pros and cons. It was very close to the train station but because it is close to the train station the location is a bit sketchy but not so bad. For those that care, there... more
Took Rick Steve's advice and checked into the Hotel Monaco. I had a room on the inner side, away from most of the street noise. It was simple, very clean, with two single beds, shower and bath. Large elaborate breakfasts, very helpful and friendly staff. Great location near the main rail station and within walking distance of the downtown area... more

The room was ready when we arrived and big as well as the bathroom (compared to other European hotels that we stayed in the past). The mattress on the bed was very hard, we started to feel muscle aches after the... more
At first glance, it looks old and unattractive and the street that it's on has a couple of men's clubs, but when you step into the hotel from the tiny elevator, you feel completely at home. The charm of Monaco's interior will make you forget the street down below. It is country shabby chic and has tons of cherub decor... more
We booked this hotel because of its proximity to the main Munich railstation - this was fine, as it is just 3 mins walk. I asked for a quiet room and was promised we had been given this. Yes, the room was at the back and overlooked an inner courtyard, so no noise from there, BUT it was also right... more
We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Monaco and were very pleased with the whole experience. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent english when my GCSE German failed me! The room was larger than I had expected and we certainly didn't feel at all cramped. The decor is a little dated but is not shabby and the rooms... more
