I stayed in the Grand Hotel for three nights and was a bit nervous about it because I have a rule, from experience, never to stay near a railway station! Anyway there was no problem. I got a superior double room at the same rate as a double and it was lovely. Two double beds, a separate room with table... more
Overall a good hotel outside the city walls. If you're arriving by Train, hotel is a short walk from the bus stop that comes from TGV station. Good size rooms, however it's quite a walk to main attractions a bit more expensive than most hotels in the city and you could find a better deal inside city walls. more
Modern hotel just outside the walls but a short easy walk to everything. Parking next to hotel. Stayed for 2 nights in a large room (suite) with separate lounge and bedroom. 2 TVs! Breakfast was expensive at 15 euros so we ate out for 6 euros (croissant, roll and jam, orange juice, cofee, biscuits). Good value. Avignon was bigger than... more
Booked a triple room at the Grand Hotel, located beside the train station in Avignon. The room we had was more like a suite, with a small sitting room. It was roughly 142 Euros per night IIRC. The room was clean, with a nice enough bathroom. My bed, (the third) was more of a cot, so I think I would... more
The hotel is just a 3-min walk from the Avignon Center train station. If you come from the Avignon TGV train station, you can take a 10-15min bus ride (Euro 1.1) from the station and stop at the bus terminal. The hotel is just opposite to the bus terminal and the wall. We stayed at a superior room which is... more

We stayed 2 nights here but it was suppose to be 3 nights. We left early because we decided the drive between Avignon and Aix-en-Provence was too long (2 hours) and would stay in Aix since we were on the way to Nice after that... It worked out perfect. Our stay was GREAT! Our suite was lovely, nice terrace and... more
We booked a week with Cricketer holidays - in their brochure this appeared quite a lush hotel. It was well positioned just outside the town walls, a few minutes walk to the centre. All of our party were given 'suites' - in most cases 2 bedrooms and small 'sitting room' per couple. Plenty of space if a little frugally decorated... more
My husband and I spent one night at this hotel while on a trip through Provence for our first anniversary. We loved it! The location was fabulous; just a short walk to the main street of the old city. The hotel was beautiful and our room was huge. We felt so spoiled! The breakfast brunch is NOT worth the price,... more
