We just returned a couple of days ago from 3 nights at the Emporio Acapulco. First thing, when arriving at Acapulco airport, don't sucker for the cab / return cab / entertainment / breakfast what-not that is offered by people there at the airport. It is a time-share ploy by the Mayan Plaza something or other, and they want to... more

I visited the Emporio last spring with a group of my friends. I would have to say the service was the best that I have every seen, because the waiter “David” making sure that we had everything that we could possibly need. All inclusive was great too. We never left our beach hut all week because the food/drinks were awesome.... more

I checked into the Hotel Emporio on very early in the morning on Wednesday, June 13th and checked out after 20 minutes. We were given a room on the 4th floor, which upon entering the room looked great, but which had a nasty musty smell. I was willing to wait it out and see if turning the A/C on eliminated... more

I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference in Acapulco for my work. Several of us booked Friday and Saturday nights following the conference for a small vacation before heading home. The hotel did not honor these reservations despite the fact that they were made 4 months ahead of time. Instead they kicked all of us out on Friday.... more

A recent conference brought us to this hotel. Well in advance rooms were reserved through a conference travel agent with confirmation. The reservations were for one week. For some attendees, the room reservations were not honored. Either the guest was notified upon arrival that they could only stay for 3 days, or for others, on the third night of their... more

We just returned from 5 days in Acapulco where we booked a 5 night stay at the Emporio based on reviews here at tripAdvisor. My husband was attending a scientific metting there. The first problem is that the line to check in was incredibly long and after a 15 hour day of travel it was not pleasant to have to... more

This place was better than I ever expected! I was really worried from mixed reviews prior to when I went, but my god, I worried for nothing. It was brilliant! Everything went well! I'll go into it all for those who are as nitpicky as me about knowing everything before travelling: My two friends and I went during Spring Break... more

This was our second stay at the Emporio and once again the hotel was great. We requested a room with a king bed but received a room with two doubles. We went down to the front desk and were told we would be moved the next day. The next day when we asked about the new room we were offered... more

Overall I would definately recommend this hotel. I thought it was very economical and for the price was more than satisfactory. The Adult Pool and Infinity Pool are GREAT areas if you want some peace and quiet. And lots of hammocks! Most hotels do not offer such areas. The service was all around great, even at the beach I never... more

Let me start off by saying Acapulco is a beautiful city on the bay. I would not listen to the negative reviews. I am a well traveled guy from NY and have very discriminating tastes when it comes to vacationing and hotels. The Emporio was absolutely gorgeous and was very well run. I will say after reading some of the... more
