I feel very safe in Manila, which to me is a grossly underrated city. However Divisoria is incredibly crowded. Think of three others having a shower with you in a small cubicle and you may get the picture. There are certainly bargains. However if you go, take only the money you need, leave any jewellery at home and keep hold... more

On arrival I was impressed by the check-in staff who asked me to sit for a few minutes so they could check the room. I should have taken that as an omen that not all was well.
